If you haven’t come across Ryusei Imai yet, prepare to be astounded. Some call him the “Reincarnation of Bruce Lee’ and when you see what this 7-year-old kid can do, you’ll understand how this is a totally justifiable description.
The Japanese prodigy began watching Martial arts movies at the age of 1, training in martial arts at the age of 4, and then specifically Jeet Kune Do a year later. He quickly became an online sensation due to videos uploaded on social media demonstrating his nunchuck skills and has built up an impressive following across multiple platforms since. Needless to say, this kids future is looking bright.
With such a huge commitment to his craft, Ryusei clearly has some impressive Idols. While Bruce Lee is an obvious main influence, he also is a huge fan of Donnie Yen. Not many people get to meet their Idols and for obvious reasons, Ryusei will never get to meet his main one. But he did recently get to meet Yen at the Bruce Lee Memorial event in Tokyo earlier this month.

Not one to waste an opportunity, Ryusei expressed his desire to star in Ipman 5 alongside his idol, to which Yen replied: “Okay, I’ll call you, so keep practicing until then”. Yen was clearly charmed with the little Bruce Lee, later posting to Facebook, “Attended as special guests in the Bruce Lee memorial event in Tokyo a few days ago, I was moved by so many passionate Japanese fans! Met this little person/Bruce Lee Ryusei ‘Ryuji’ who told me he watched every Ipman movie and showed me my Ipman move!😆”.
